‘Women with Gunpowder Earrings’ to screen in Czech Republic

‘Women with Gunpowder Earrings’ will be featured at Iran:CI Film Festival in Czech Republic.

Iranian documentary ‘Women with Gunpowder Earrings’ will be taking part in the 8th edition of the IRAN:CI Film Festival in the Czech Republic.

Directed by Reza Farahmand, the film will be competing with five other films in the festival’s documentary competition.

‘Women wih Gunpowder Earrings’ is a powerful documentary about a brave female journalist, Noor Al-Helli, going deep into the warzone in the fight against Daesh (ISIS), interviewing Iraqi and Syrian women and children affected by the war, revealing their shocking stories.

An Iraqi herself, Al-Helli interviews both supporters as well as adversaries of the notorious Daesh (ISIS) terrorist organization, offering viewers a balanced perspective from the frontlines.

Produced by Morteza Shaabani, the film’s most recent achievement was at the 16th annual Signes de Nuit International Film Festival in Paris, France with the documentary receiving the Main Award in the festival’s Long Documentary Competition.

The Iran:CI Film Festival is an annual event held in the Czech Republic showcasing select works from Iranian cinema to a Czech audience.

The festival which will be held in the cities of Prague (January 15-20, 2019), BRNO (January 22-23, 2019), and Bratislava (January 24-26, 2019), will host screenings for Feature Films, Documentary Films, Short Films, an Iranian-Czech Coproduction, and Iranian classics.
